Thinking, Over-Thinking, Reflecting
Writing this as a reminder for myself, likely that others may need to hear too.

Self-Obsession As a Base StateWhy am I so obsessed with myself? My image! I have deleted social media (for the most part) and tried consciously to moderate how much I value other people’s judgement, but still I find myself anxiously worrying about, primarily: how attractive I am to girls. I think everyone has their own version of this. Recently it has been been hitting really hard because I have been losing my hair. It sucks. I makes me feel so much less than. Then I watch the sunset, look up at the moon, remember the true infinitesimally small scale the speck of dust in the vast universe our whole planet even is, and I am able to breathe a sigh of relief, even if just for a moment. Clearly I am still not perfect. | ![]() me |
OPEN SPACES

I am moving to New York City next week. I am excited, scared, AGHHHHH!
Seeking purpose, meaning, worthwhile service.
Seeking money, comfort, status.
The “middle-way” of Buddhism is easy to conceptualize in terms of material objects: not a $100,000,000 castle but also not homeless! however, when it comes to which values and ideas to be guided by… for me that is still an open question.
How do I maintain balance, peace, and serenity, but also make something of myself, become impactful, and engage in a competitive and fast paced world?

Here is a podcast I did a long time ago:
A Final Note
NOTES FROM BOUNDED CREATURES
“What powers or presences stood, perhaps invisibly, at the junctures of my life and caused the train of life to go down one track rather than the others? Are those presences still operational in my life?
It is so important to construct this kind of archeological examination of the causal factors in these critical decisions for they are still present in us still possibly exercising a hand on the level that sends our life down one track or the other.”
